Note:  All questions posted on this page are posted in chronological order by the date they were received.

Question 1 - May 14, 2001 - Julie from IL asked, "I know this will probably be mentioned in a future article but who hired you for Raychel as a Christmas gift?"

Response 1: I don’t know who hired me.  I was hired anonymously.  It’s not uncommon for me to be hired that way.  Sometimes a friend just doesn’t want to be identified.  There’s nothing wrong with it professionally, as my only priority on the job is to protect the individual.  The only people who really won’t take “I don’t know” for an answer are the police.  They are very interested in knowing who hired me.  They tried to track the person from following the account my paychecks came from.  Unfortunately for them, it led to nothing.  The account was started by cash under a fake ID.  I didn’t learn that from the cops.  I learned that on my own.  Since Raychel was murdered, I have tried several times to find out who hired me, but I still don’t know.

Question 2 - May 14, 2001 - Julie from IL asked, "Did you and Raychel get along?  Did she like you by her side or did she tell you to get lost?  Did she like you knowing her business?  Did you become friends or did Raychel use you to for her own good and later you found out about it?"

Response 2: Raychel didn’t know I was following her for the first week.  I had been ordered to begin following Raychel from a discreet distance until she was properly informed of my status as her bodyguard.  The encounter with Lance Wagner changed that, as I was forced to come to Raychel’s aid.  After beating down Lance that first time, I think Raychel learned that my presence was a good thing.  There were times when I knew I was being used for intimidation purposes, but that comes with the job.  As for us becoming friends, that wasn’t going to happen.  Raychel was a client.

Question 3 - May 14, 2001 - Julie from IL asked, "How bad was Raychel's substance abuse problem and where did she get her money from to live on and pay for you?"

Response 3: Raychel’s drug abuse was either nonexistent or on a solid bender.  There was never an “in-between” time.  I can’t speak about Raychel’s time before I knew her, but I thought that she was better off with Kyle McAllister than with Laura Douglass.   Laura is nobody’s friend.  As for money, Raychel and Kyle’s money came from their contract with Terror Trax.  When Raychel was with Laura, though, Laura paid for everything and anything they needed.  I, as stated above, was already paid for.

Question 4 - May 20, 2001 - GrrlWundr from KY asked, "Do you think Raychel's use of illicit substances was a contributing factor in her death?"

Response 4: While I don't think Raychel's drug usage was a direct factor in her death, I do think it contributed.  Raychel was not using drugs that day.  If she had been using, she probably wouldn't have struggled as violently as she seemed to have.  However, Raychel's history of drug use exposed her to a number of people who she would have been better off not knowing.

On a somewhat related note, I would like to point out that, for all of his personal faults, Lance Wagner did a credible job in describing the events of the day in his article "That Day."  In the future, I will contribute an article about the last day of Raychel's life in more intimate details.

"The two of them [Geoffrey and Kyle] were fire and gasoline, and we thought that it would be best if we could guarantee that they wouldn’t run into one another for the rest of the day."

Question 5 - May 20, 2001 - GrrlWundr from KY asked, "Lance Wagner keeps referring to Raychel as his "wife", but even Laura Douglass used quotes around the word "marriage" when she described their relationship.  Did Raychel ever tell you if she and Lance were actually married?"

Response 5: Never.

Question 6 - June 11, 2001 - Lindi Mills from California asked, "On Aug 17th, 2000 from 9pm until the following morning, can you tell us where you were, who you were with and what you were doing? As Raychel’s bodyguard you are in charge of following her around and looking out for her, on the night of her murder I am guessing you followed her to Kyle's apt. At what time did you decide to leave? Did you stay behind at all? Did you see anyone as you were leaving? Did you notice anything strange, such as a phone call or anything out of the ordinary? Was Kyle at his house when you arrived perhaps preparing to leave? Thanks."

Response 6: I was given the night of August 17th off by Raychel. We had not arranged it in advance, but we both agreed it would be best after the fight at Terror Trax between Geoffrey MacIntyre and Kyle McAllister. The two of them were fire and gasoline, and we thought that it would be best if we could guarantee that they wouldn’t run into one another for the rest of the day. So we separated at Terror Trax around 7:00 p.m. Raychel and Kyle went back to Kyle’s apartment and I took Geoffrey out for a night on the town. I should never have left Raychel alone.

Question 7 - June 11, 2001 - Lindi Mills from California asked, "Laura said in a statement that Raychel and you both stayed a night with her. Can you tell us how you viewed their relationship? Were there any sexual relations in their relationship to your knowledge? Anything to make you think there was more to their relationship than meets the eye? What room did Raychel sleep in that night? Did she have her own room? Did she do any writing? Also, you stated that you had to beat Lance down in a following statement, could you tell us more to what that was about, why you felt the need to use such force, etc?"

Response 7: As much as I might enjoy someone ELSE being accused of being a lesbian for once, let me put an end to that rumor. I can tell you straight out that I never witnessed anything that could be regarded as a lesbian relationship between Laura and Raychel (or myself for that matter). They were close friends, but not lovers. For the record, we spent a number of nights with Laura, for a number of different reasons. Laura had a spare bedroom dedicated as a crash pad for Raychel whenever she needed it. As Raychel’s constant companion, it was also mine. Also, yes, Raychel continued to write. I don’t think she could possibly stop writing.

Now about my New Year’s Eve beating on Lance Wagner. As a female bodyguard, even a strong one, I already have the deck stacked against me. To combat this perception, I project an immediate and intimidating presence to prevent a number of negative possibilities. When first assigned to Raychel Taurus, I did not know who hired me or why specifically I was being hired. After a week of casual reconnaissance, Lance Wagner was the first person I saw who posed a threat to Raychel’s safety. I reacted with the force and demeanor that I was trained to use. If you think my reaction was excessive, ask yourself if you would rather have me as a bodyguard or someone who is willing to wait until someone draws a gun.

Question 8 - June 11, 2001 - Christie Tindell from Tennessee asked, "Can you give the details to your follow up with Raychel on the night of her murder? Such as, where all you went with her, what time you left her, who you saw, if her mood had changed any before you left, if she received any phone calls, if she wrote any poems on that night, etc?"

Response 8: I was given the night of August 17th off by Raychel.

"I do feel responsible for Raychel’s death, but I did not kill her. I want to know who did it. And then I want five minutes alone with that person."

Question 9 - June 11, 2001 - Christie Tindell from Tennessee asked, "Four questions: 1) How many times have you had to be the mediator in Raychel's disputes? Can you give us detail on how many people you had to "kick butt" with? Names possibly. 2) You state that you work with one client at a time, where were you positioned on the night of Raychel’s murder and did you find her first with Kyle or was Kyle alone in finding the body? 3) Can you tell us any information about the crime scene itself as you perhaps were allowed to view such, being her bodyguard? 4) Being Raychel's bodyguard and feeling a heavy weight from her death, have you done anything to contribute to finding her killer since the taking of her life? If so, please explain and offer anything that you feel you are able to contribute."

Response 9: 1) I was mediator (as you call it) more times than I care to say out of respect for Raychel. I was also the person who kept the police at bay when requested by Raychel.

2) Kyle was alone in discovering Raychel. I was given the night of August 17th off by Raychel.

3) I was not allowed at the scene of Raychel’s murder. They closed the crime scene. A lot of good that did.

4) I have investigated Raychel’s murder in my spare time. I have a lot of spare time. As to what I have learned, I will keep that to myself for now. I don’t want to spoil any surprises.

Question 10 - June 12, 2001 - Anis Nin from Mariville, NE asked, "Where were you on the night of Raychel's murder?"

Response 10: I was given the night of August 17th off by Raychel.

Question 11 - June 13, 2001 - Chrisindi Midell from California asked, "Can I see the police report, being you are the bodyguard I figure you have information about this."

Response 11: I do not have a copy of the official police report, as it is not a matter of public record. Perhaps the Minister of Information, Lance Wagner, has been able to weasel a copy of the report away from the police.

Question 12 - June 13, 2001 - Chrisindi Midell from California asked, "I've read this site over and over, and I want to know why you are always missing in action when needed? I thought you were a bodyguard (24/7) and not a personal assistant to your client (running errands). Can you explain?"

Response 12: When you work for someone so long, there are times when a relationship breaks down from its professional manner. I did my best to maintain that relationship, but human beings make mistakes. I was also there for Raychel on more occasions than I have described to this point out of respect for Raychel’s privacy. That being said, I do feel responsible for Raychel’s death, but I did not kill her. I want to know who did it. And then I want five minutes alone with that person.
