Question 11 - April 10, 2002 - Sharon C. in Asheville,
NC asked, "I am aware that Laura and Sharon have been arrested for
Raychel's murder. I am just requesting clarification from a
statement made earlier. Sergei indicated that Raychel told him on
the night of her murder that she was leaving you for good. Do you
know why she ultimately came to this decision? Thanks for your time."
Response 11:
I do not believe that Raychel ever came to that decision. I was
with her hours before she was murdered and – while we did fight – she
never said anything about leaving me, let alone leaving me for good.
I expect Sergei didn’t understand Raychel when they spoke.
Question 12 - April 13, 2002 - Sharon C. in Asheville,
NC asked, "You indicated in your previous response that, "Sergei
didn’t understand Raychel when they spoke." Would you mind explaining
the following statement made by Sergei so there is no misunderstanding
of Raychel's intent: 'She said that she and Mr. McAllister had a fight
and that she needed to get away from him for good now.' "
Response 12:
You assume that Sergei was telling the truth. Do yourself a favor,
don’t. I believe that Sergei either heard what he wanted to hear or
outright lied about it to suit himself. I believe that Sergei is jealous
of the relationship I had with Raychel. Any time that Sergei has acted
in my favor, it was to strengthen his tie with Raychel. Now he is merely
trying to cause trouble. Why? I have no idea. That I can prove. Yet.
Question 13 - April 13, 2002 - Sharon C. in Asheville,
NC asked, "Anna
Fantiani stated, "Raychel wrote letters to those people that I
distributed after her murder..." Did Anna give you one of those
letters? If she did, would you please tell us what Rachel wrote to
you? I know answering these questions is difficult for you because you,
along with other individuals, are still grieving Raychel's death. I hope
that by posting these questions we can all learn a little more about
Raychel and obtain a better understanding of the circumstances that led
to her murder. Thank you for your time."
Response 13:
Yes, I did receive a letter from Raychel via Anna Fantiani. Rather than
tell you myself, I will let Raychel speak for me. I will send a copy of
the letter to Lance Wagner and ask that he post it as soon as possible.
Question 14 - April 20, 2002 - Mary from Centralia, MO asked, "Who
was the doctor who did the MMT treatments?"
Response 14:
Dr. Penbrook in Fargo, ND administered the methadone treatments over a
four-week period following my “kidnapping” of Raychel in March of 1999.

"...just in case you are trying to insinuate that I paid for
Raychel, remember that we [Sharon and I] had almost the exact same
access to Raychel, so it would have been a waste of money. Also, if
Sharon was reporting to me, then shouldn’t I have known that Raychel
was having an affair with Geoffrey MacIntyre long before June 6th?" |
Question 15 - April 24, 2002 - Jezikah Murray from
Newark, DE asked, "It was Sharon's duty to guard Raychel. Why didn't she
guard her from you while you were beating her? I'd ask Sharon, but she's
-- as I’m sure you know -- unavailable. Thanks."
Response 15:
While I am uncomfortable speaking for Sharon, particularly on this
subject, I think Sharon had her own type of love/hate relationship with
Raychel. Her writings on the site seem to bear that out. While there
were some times when Sharon aggressively fought for Raychel (example:
attacking Lance Wagner), maybe Sharon didn’t agree with Raychel’s
attacks on me (she provoked the bulk of our fights) and decided to let
Raychel “reap the whirlwind.” I think Sharon’s personal feelings about
Raychel compromised her professional integrity. And just in case you are
trying to insinuate that I paid for Raychel, remember that we had almost
the exact same access to Raychel, so it would have been a waste of
money. Also, if Sharon was reporting to me, then shouldn’t I have known
that Raychel was having an affair with Geoffrey MacIntyre long before
June 6th?
Question 16 - April 24, 2002 - Jezikah Murray from
Newark, DE asked, "Did you and Raychel have a physical (even semi) fight
the night of her death just before you "grabbed" your keys and split? In
other words, was everything in its place before you locked the door to
your apartment?"
Response 16:
I was not responsible for any of the destruction in my apartment. After
our fight on June 6th I never touched Raychel in anger. That was the
last time I made a mistake of that nature.
Question 17 - April 25, 2002 - Julie from IL asked,
"You must be happy with what Raychel wrote, sending it to Lance so
easily. Is this true? Don't you think it would be better if you sent it
to Nick Graves to help further Raychel’s murder investigation? Then he
can bring the killer to justice? Thank you for your time!"
Response 17:
I am not “happy” with Raychel’s letter to me, but it was the truth as
she saw it and I have to live with that. In the interest of full
disclosure, I will send a copy that I have of her letter to Nick Graves.
If he chooses to do something with it, I won’t oppose it.
Question 18 - April 26, 2002 - Jezikah Murray from
Newark, DE asked, "Though it might not seem important since she was
charged, Sharon stated in her transcript with the police that she never
sent reports on Raychel to her employer. Yet,
in one of her Q&A
Responses, she said that she sent reports to a P.O. Box. If anything, it
might help you really find who hired Sharon. Also, did you ever consider
the fact that no one hired Sharon? Maybe she took it upon herself to
render her services?"
Response 18:
Yeah, I noticed that one, too. I wonder what happened to make Sharon
change her story. Also, I never considered that Sharon hired herself
simply because it would be an incredible personal expense to spend eight
months with Raychel without someone picking up the tab. I just don’t see
where she would have met Raychel without my being there (considering
when she would have been “hired”) and I don’t know what was in it for
her.
Question 19 - April 29, 2002 - Sharon C. from
Asheville, NC asked, "Thank you for your (as well as Lance, David, and
Sergei’s) willingness to post the letter you received for Raychel. Now
that some time has passed since Laura and Sharon’s arrest, do you still
think that they were responsible for Raychel’s murder? If not, who do
you consider the primary suspects? Thank you for your willingness to
respond to questions posted to you."
|
"Unfortunately I cannot give
you proof that I did not hire Anna Fantiani because that is
impossible. I wish it could be otherwise, but it is backwards for me
to be asked to provide evidence of something I had no part in." |
Response 19:
The people I suspect? That’s a pretty long list. Sergei Brosovsky was
the last person to admit to seeing Raychel alive. Lance Wagner has no
alibi and a history of obsession with Raychel (stemming from their
secret long-distance marriage). Geoffrey MacIntyre was a controlling
influence who showed his fire after Raychel was finished using him. But
I still understand perfectly why Laura Douglass and Sharon Wolfe are in
jail. Laura Douglass’ history goes back to Raychel’s beginnings in Los
Angeles. She controlled Raychel with drugs and money as soon as she
learned how talented she was. When Raychel began moving toward complete
independence from her, Laura employed her hitman (Sharon) and the two of
them used Geoffrey MacIntyre as an opportunistic alibi. The liquored him
up and took the opportunity to strike while I was out. I never thought
about this before: What if I was there? Would the two of them have tried to
attack both of us, or would they have changed strategies? Chilling.
So, yeah,
I’m glad they’re in jail.
Question 20 - June 18, 2002 - JoAnn Miller from Cedar
Rapids, IA asked, "I'm not sure whom I would ask this to, but I was
just wondering . . . doesn't anybody else find it kind of suspicious
that the psychic just came out of nowhere, told Raychel to get back with
the guy who beat her, and then months later, they find her dead, and him
with an unreliable alibi?"
Response 20:
I’m glad that you chose to pose your question directly to me, rather
than forward it to those who are hostile to me due to personal
conflicts. Unfortunately I cannot give you proof that I did not hire
Anna Fantiani because that is impossible. I wish it could be otherwise,
but it is backwards for me to be asked to provide evidence of something
I had no part in. Perhaps if I could prove that someone else hired Anna
Fantiani, it would mean something. However, I do not have that
information (or even a suggestion). And while you may find my alibi
unreliable, it seems that Detective Knox found enough evidence to clear
me in the investigation (especially considering my initial situation).
If you don’t know what it is, try reviewing the
police interview of
Laura Douglass.
Question 21 - July 1, 2002 - Dana from Alabama asked, "Where were
you when the murder was taking place?"
Response 21:
While others have changed their stories since the inception of the
Painseeker site, my response remains the same. It remains the same
because it is the truth. As I stated in my
Memories article
“A Day in Hell”, I was out
driving in my car after an argument with Raychel.
|
"If you run down the list of
Raychel’s acquaintances that have contributed to Painseeker, you
will see that every one of them can be accused of trying to use her.
But our relationship was different. We needed each other, both
creatively and personally." |
Question 22 - July 2, 2002 - Michelle from Bealeton, VA asked, "Did
Raychel drink a certain brand of tequila? If so, what was it?"
Response 22:
Raychel’s usual brand was Jose Cuervo Gold, but she wasn’t too
discriminant.
Question 23 - July 2, 2002 - Michelle from Bealeton, VA asked, "Why
did you “kidnap” her? I’d like to hear your side of it please."
Response 23:
I think I’ve already stated my reasons very clearly. See the end of my
Memories article
“The Purge.”
Question 24 - July 2, 2002 - Michelle from Bealeton, VA asked, "Why
were you so protective of Raychel? Was someone trying to hurt her or use
her in any way? Was there someone from her past that was a problem
because of her new fame?"
Response 24:
Raychel would have argued that she wasn’t famous, and I’d probably have
to agree. While we had some good shows at Safehaven, it was already a
friendly environment. The only other live show we did was a bomb at The
Bone Yard. The cherry on top is that we never finished recording her
album. That being said, others knew she was going to be famous. She was
too special not to become famous. That was why I tried to protect her.
Everyone was trying to hurt her or use her. If you run down the list of
Raychel’s acquaintances that have contributed to Painseeker, you will
see that every one of them can be accused of trying to use her. But our
relationship was different. We needed each other, both creatively and
personally.
Question 25 - July 2, 2002 - Michelle from Bealeton, VA asked, "If
she was so afraid of you, why did you let Sharon live with you? That
doesn't even make any sense. Would you please explain?"
Response 25:
I’m afraid I don’t understand your question. Sharon Wolfe wasn’t afraid
of me. Most people are afraid of Sharon.
Question 26 - July 24, 2002 - Elizabeth from Milton, WI asked, "Did
you have anything to do with the murder of Raychel Caroline Wagner?"
Response 26:
Other than being the person who found Raychel’s body, I did not have
anything to do with her murder. For a detailed description of what
happened that day, go to the Memories section and read my article,
“A Day in Hell.”
Question 27 - September 1, 2002 - Maygin from KL asked,
"What would you say that your relationship with Ms. Wagner was like?"
Response 27: Our relationship was very complex. I believed
in Raychel and her talent. I think she had made so many mistakes before
she met me that she didn’t know how to cope with success when we started
out so well. Anna once said that Raychel didn’t know how to be happy
because of her father and his abuse of her. I know that I was far from
perfect in our relationship, but those elements of Raychel’s personality
combined to add a lot more stress in our relationship than there needed
to be. All that being said, we had something very special between us,
and it was getting better before it was taken away from us. I regret
that I’ll never know just how good we could have been together, both
professionally and personally.
