Raising Chicks

photograph is from Raychel’s birthday in 1973. One of her presents
that year was this batch of hatchlings. You can see one of them in
the box. Our father may have taken care of them, but Raychel was
their sponsor, helping our father feed them. We always had
livestock for pets. It seems straightforward until the “pet” is
grown. Have you ever seen your pet get decapitated? We did,
several times. That is life on a farm.
