Sharon's Responses to The 10 Questions

This site is bulls**t.  But my article won't be.  Even better, I won't take long.

I got a phone call from Lance Wagner a week or so ago.  He said that I had been "invited" to contribute to this memorial web site for Raychel.  From the sound of his voice, I could tell the invitation wasn't coming from him.

A quick inspection of the site confirmed my suspicions.  As I'm sure you already know, his invitation was driven by Ken Kincaid and Laura Douglass (and possibly one other person, but I can't confirm that yet).

It didn't take me long to get completely up to speed with this site.  I'm not much of a sit-down reader, but I currently have a lot of time on my hands and I hate daytime talk shows.  So I read the entire site.

As I said, this site is bulls**t!

While the site may be a nice place to learn something about Raychel's friends, I think their interpretation of Raychel has been inadequate at best.  At times, I believe it has been attempting to intentionally mislead its readers.

The fault of the previous authors was that they had other agendas.  If you've read them all, you probably already know them.  If not, give me time, and I will tell you about those agendas complete with evidence (if you're willing to trust me).  The biggest problem with the previous articles is that they are all trying to make themselves look like the hero/heroine in Raychel's life.  Each author has portrayed Raychel as a person in need of assistance who, despite their best efforts, was unable to keep from falling.  In the process, they have told you more about themselves than about Raychel.

I can't fall into that trap for one simple reason: I have no life.  My job is my life.

I am a specialist in my field.  Most bodyguards work at set times for a set number of hours.  They accompany the client either at work or at times when the client is going to be exposed in public (such as autograph sessions or if the client wants to go out to eat).  My job is different.  I only work with one client at a time.  The client is typically categorized as a "high risk."  A dangerous situation can occur at any time.  Therefore, my protection is 24x7.  I live with my clients.

Protection of my variety does not come cheap.  There is a good reason for that.  "High risk" clients normally fall into one of two categories:

"No one has really said it this way before but Raychel was a world-class manipulator of people.  That put her in harm's way with a lot of people."

The person is famous - A client hires me if he/she has received numerous death threats or has an order of protection filed against a stalker.  I work with the client until the danger has passed and then some (six months or so).

The person is infamous - These clients are usually more dangerous to others than they are to themselves.  They are hated and despised for any number of reasons.  In these cases I'm usually hired by the client's attorney while the client is out of prison on bail.  I protect the client until after the trial.

I expect that I know what you're thinking.  Which was Raychel?  Actually she was a combination of the two.  She was on the verge of being famous, and there were concerns about outside forces (not really a stalker, but something like that).  She was also a danger to other people, although not physically.  No one has really said it this way before but Raychel was a world-class manipulator of people.  That put her in harm's way with a lot of people.

I don't base these conclusions on stories from this web site.  I do not base my conclusions on second-hand stories.  My conclusions are based on my own personal observations of Raychel while I worked with her from December 25, 1999 until her death on August 17, 2000.

Since I rely on my personal observations, I have to allow for a certain amount of regard for the Memories of others.  I admit that contradicting Lance or Laura about Raychel's days with the Bleeders would be unwise.  I did not know Raychel when she lived with Lance.  However, I did get to meet Lance afterward (see my response to question 8 in The 10 Questions).  All of that being said,  I do know that the Raychel these people speak of doesn't ring true to the one I knew.

If I cannot argue against other articles by providing my own contradictory memories of those times, I can argue on another basis.  Raychel and I spoke on numerous occasions about her life and the shortcomings of her friends.  In the future, I will start spilling these stories.  Then we can all see where each of us stands.

I expect you will learn one thing from my future articles.  And it's something no one else will say, but everyone knew (including Raychel) -- Raychel had it coming!
