Updated July 7, 2002

The Blackboard is a series of quick reference pages for the case.  They are separated into three sections: Who's Who (who are the suspects), Case Questions (questions related to the case), and Suspicions (notes on reasons why a person could be guilty).  E-mail me if you have something to add and I will post is ASAP.

I have heard there is a discussion group that trades information related to Raychel's murder.  Whatever will they think of next?

A list of presently unanswered questions regarding the case.
(E-mail me to submit your own additions)

1.Who murdered Raychel Taurus and why?

2.Who hired Sharon Wolfe to be Raychel's bodyguard?

3.Where was everyone on the night of Raychel's murder?

Response: Big question!  Alibis are always more complex than a single statement.  However, I have found what I consider the most important statements of personal whereabouts and provided links to them through their names below.

Lance Wagner, Laura Douglass, Ken Kincaid, Sharon Wolfe, David Vanderhoff, Geoffrey MacIntyre, Anna Fantiani, Sergei Brosovsky, and Kyle McAllister.

4.Was Lance really married to Raychel?

Response: Yes!  Believe it or not, I uncovered a copy of their marriage certificate and reported on it in my Investigation Report First Suspect.

5.Where is the murder weapon?  What is the murder weapon actually would be the best question. Can you give any details of the such if it was ever found? Is it a simple kitchen knife that was from inside the apt or was it rather some knife with special effects or engravings that might help in our investigation? (From PImonroe in California)

Response:  In my Investigation Report The Scene, I disclosed that police forensics have determined that the murder weapon was a broken liquor bottle.

6.How did Lance break into Kyle’s apt before? (If Laura is really willing to help this investigation she would tell if Lance picked the lock himself or if he requested someone else to do the job). (From PImonroe in California)

Response: If Laura Douglass is to be trusted (a big if considering the current circumstances), then we now know that Lance used a tool to get through Kyle's door when they were looking for Raychel while she was "kidnapped" by Kyle McAllister.

7.Where did Kyle go after Raychel's death? Others say he went missing for a few days? This needs a number of details and perhaps even witnesses. (From PImonroe in California)

8.Can we see any records? Such as the police report, the marriage papers, the crime scene report, the lab reports, Lance’s psychological profile, the suspects background checks? (From PImonroe in California)

Response: The marriage certificate between Raychel and Lance is available in my Investigation Report First Suspect.  Other relevant information is posted in the Investigation Reports section.  More will be coming in the near future.

9.Where is W Los Angeles hotel or motel located? (From PImonroe in California)

Response:  The W Los Angeles is in Westwood.  It is a hotel catering to business executives.

10.How far is this place from Kyle McAllister's apt? (From PImonroe in California)

Response:  Ken Kincaid answered in his Q&A Responses that it takes approximately 45 minutes to get to Kyle McAllister's apartment from the W Los Angeles.

11.Is their a record for a David Vanderhoff at this place? (This could be listed under his work’s title) (From PImonroe in California)

12.Is there any way to get any records of his checking in & out, room service, phone calls, perhaps even information from the maid about the things left behind? (From PImonroe in California)

13.Did Terror Trax have any life insurance on Raychel?  If not, did anyone? (From Christina in Evansville, IN)

14.How do you know ANYONE hired Sharon as a bodyguard? She seems to volunteer her services quite readily. Perhaps in the hope of covering up her own involvement? (From Christina in Evansville, IN)

15.Is there any proof that Sharon and Geoffrey came home at the late hour she claims? He (according to all accounts so far) was in no shape to know the time. (From Christina in Evansville, IN)

16.Why did the police investigation into Raychel's murder fail to find a suspect to charge?

17.Where is all the forensic evidence? By that I mean where is the medical examiners report, evidence report for the scene itself, fingerprints etc.? (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

Response: I have only been in charge of the site for two months. Prior to that it was run by Lance Wagner as a tribute to Raychel, and over time it has developed into this current format. I just have not simply gotten around to it. Since Laura Douglass and Sharon Wolfe were arrested and charged with the crime already, I thought it was more important that we look into the reasons why the first police investigation failed to charge either Laura or Sharon with the crime. After all, if it were not for this site’s existence, Laura Douglass and Sharon Wolfe never would have been arrested. See the “In Theory” Archive to see why they were arrested in the first place.

There is one other difficulty with providing forensic evidence at this time. Laura Douglass’ new attorney made a motion to gag the site from publishing additional information that might taint a jury. With the trials fast approaching, the judge has granted only limited rights for this site during the course of the trials. We were allowed to continue with the publication of police transcripts (as their statements had been published prior to the motion) and Raychel’s letters (which were given voluntarily) so those will be published; however, the judge has gagged everything else. Laura has apparently decided to make the web site an issue in the case, but to what end remains a mystery.

When the trials are over and the information has been cleared, I expect that we will be allowed the right to publish the forensic evidence contained in the file. At that time I will then go through the file to provide answers to those questions of yours that were not answered, as well as the other remaining questions on The Blackboard.

18.Whose fingerprints were in the apartment besides Kyle and Raychel's?  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

19.If there was such a vicious fight, was there any skin under her nails, hair she may have pulled, fingerprints on the bottle, guitar, end table, etc? (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

20.Who else's blood was there? You are not going to tell me a fight like the one reported and supposedly she fought back as hard as she did, didn't leave any evidence like that.  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

21.Were any of the suspects bruised or scratched or hurt in any way the night of the murder?  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

22.Did anyone check any of the local liquor stores, for the purchase of tequila that night?  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

23.What did any of the neighbors say when questioned about the fight? Did they hear any other voices?  If they are used to Kyle and Raychel fighting all the time, a new voice would stand of the ordinary. (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

24.What about any other footprints, I'm under the impression that Kyle walked all around the apartment and then left. Were there any others? (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

25.Was this a ground floor apartment? Did anyone find any footprints outside in dirt or on concrete? (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

26.Were all the clothes from all the suspects collected as evidence? And shoes as well.  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

27.Has anyone actually timed the distances from all locations in question to compare them to the time frame at hand?  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

Response: Yes. The bulk of the relevant answers can be found in the Q&A Responses portion of the Question section.

28.Has anyone been subjected to a lie detector test or asked to take one?  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

29.Is there a security camera at the apartment complex? Has it been checked? A night watchman? Neighborhood Watch? Anyone leaving or coming in from a night shift that may have seen or heard something?  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

30.Did Kyle answer any more questions after getting his attorney? (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

31.Has anyone done a background check into this Anna Fantiani?  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

32.When will the letters be posted? Who received them?  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

Response:  The letters will be posted prior to the start of Laura’s trial. I am having the letters scanned (so they can be seen in Raychel’s own hand) and will post them ASAP. Everyone who has already posted on this site has received a letter. For more information, I highly recommend going through each person’s Q&A Responses, as there were a variety of statements made about the receipt of letters (and the “secrecy” issue).

33.If Raychel was picked up for prostitution, could there be a possibility of some else being involved, someone she owed money to, when purchasing the drugs maybe? Who did she buy from? Did she have a pimp?  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

34.Do we have the information from the bank as to where the checks that paid Sharon came from or any information at all?  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

35.Who paid for Raychel's funeral? Did she have a will?  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

36.How did Kyle come into his money?  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

Response:  From his family, who have since deceased. This is explained further in his Memories article “Hunter.”

37.If David Vanderhoff really wanted to find Raychel, he could have pulled her social off the web and found her, if he really wanted to let her know her mother died. Has anyone done a background on him for abuse? Has produced phone records and plane tickets? Did he rent a car while there? If so what was the mileage?  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

38.Any parking tickets given out the night of the murder in front or around the apartment?  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

39.Could the body be seen from the front door if it was left where it was originally?  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

Response:  I can answer this only because it was mentioned previously. The body could be seen only if the front door was open, which it was not when Kyle arrived at the scene of the crime.

40.Who's DNA was found on the sheets?  (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

41.Was Kyle's alibi what he was driving around to cool off after their fight in the recording studio? (From Michelle in Bealeton, VA)

Response:  Yes. He has a more extensive alibi in his Memories article “A Day in Hell.”
