Proceed to Painseeker

Painseeker is an interactive murder mystery serial.  The mystery is written from the point of view of the many suspects who are introduced as the mystery progresses.  Since the suspects have control, they have the same ability to lie, misdirect, and attempt to mislead as any real suspect does.

To enhance the realism of the web site, I will endeavor to minimize authorial intrusions on the game with the exception of the slug lines "Homicide: The Game" and "Painseeker".  Therefore, please note that the name, characters, places, and events described and  shown on this web site are the product of the author's imagination or used fictitiously, and any resemblance to actual persons, either living or dead, events or locales are entirely coincidental.

Now, on with the game . . .

In the coming weeks you will learn more about Raychel from the current webmaster Lance Wagner and from others associated with her life.  You will learn about her life and the events leading up to her untimely death, a death which remains unsolved.

That's where you come in!

You are welcome to use the Questions and Answers Form to inquire about Raychel, or to ask for a clarification.  You will receive a response via e-mail (if you choose to supply an address) and your question and the response will be posted on the web site.  The question and answer segments and memorial articles and features written by other characters will help you in solving the murder of Raychel.   Police reports and evidence will be added to the site by the suspects themselves.

To enhance the mystery, additional features may be added as the game progresses.  No further explanation can be given at this time.

This game will proceed until the mystery is solved!  It will be solved when a person uses The "In Theory" Form and explains the events of the murder complete with evidence.  You must supply the who, what, where, and why of the murder; however, it is not enough to say that Colonel  Mustard did it in the observatory with a candlestick because he didn't like Mr. Body's twitching.  You must support your theory with evidence.  Evidence that would theoretically stand up in court.  When the mystery is solved, I anticipate there to be one or two more updates to resolve the mystery.

To keep the game moving at a regular pace, I will update this site on a weekly basis (approximately 11:00 CDT on Sundays).  If the update is to be delayed, there will be a notice posted on the home page as to the next scheduled update.

As a further note, this site will not remain static.  The site (and its content) may be changed based on the whims of Lance (or the current webmaster of the site).  Therefore, please check the site weekly, as evidence may be moved or removed from the site.

If you have any suggestions about the site, please let me know.  I may be reached at mnoncek@homicidethegame.com.

Thank you for visiting, and enjoy!
